Phantom II Paris Opera - Devialet is not only an outstanding piece of engineering- but an ode to one of the most important cultural sites in the world.

We commissioned Ateliers Gohard in Paris to apply the gold leaf louvers to the Phantom. The gilders of this traditional Parisian company have already been responsible for the restoration of the gilding of the Opéra Garnier as well as other French national monuments and invoke traditional craftsmanship. Each gold leaf is applied by hand in an eight-step process- giving the Phantom its unique patina. The technique uses a special adhesive to provide the necessary hold. Once the mixture has the right bond- this is known as amoureuse- a term that alludes to the desire for a kiss- and the gold leaf is applied. This classic technique focuses on absolute perfection. Once the leaf is applied- it cannot be removed again
